Optimization of candidate email extractions

We have optimized our parsing of candidate contact details in response to changes made to candidate emails by certain job boards. Read more in this article.

Improved automatic extraction of candidate emails following a reply to an offer

Some job boards, such as APEC, Indeed and LinkedIn, have set up specific email addresses for each candidate, enabling exchanges to be logged. Here are a few explanations of the reasons for this change and the new way Beetween works.

Why the strange emails on my candidate forms?

What are we talking about?

Since the update of some job boards, you have probably received applications on Beetween with somewhat strange email addresses, as below:

  • 1v0c164666769p177779382@candidature.apec.fr
  • s-4vllbhbwe84uf9yk6sj4lb9u5xdw3k0slrlwtbqg1do22mecqlkblz5i@bounce.linkedin.com
  • yvanchevalier7_d27@indeedemail.com

These email addresses are automatically generated by the job boards for each application. If you reply to the candidate using this email address, don't worry, your email will be automatically forwarded by the platform to the candidate's mailbox.

What is the purpose of job boards?

These email addresses enable job boards to set up a messaging system between recruiters and candidates. In this way, all emails exchanged are logged in the messaging system of each recruiter and each jobboard candidate.
Take Indeed, for example, where the candidate area includes a "Messages" area. All emails sent to addresses generated by Indeed for the candidate (e.g. yvanchevalier7_d27@indeedemail. com) will be integrated into the candidate's Indeed mailbox.

In the same way, when the candidate responds to the email sent by the recruiter, Indeed will automatically create a specific email address for the recruiter, so that exchanges can be centralized in the Indeed messaging space and then transferred to the recruiter's personal email address.

Beetween update for better email parsing

The effects of the update

In response to numerous requests, we have optimized the module for extracting candidate email addresses for job boards that have implemented this function.
Thus, if we detect a more "personal" email address in the candidate's CV (e.g. ychevalier@beetween. com), we assign it by default to the Beetween candidate file rather than assigning the yvanchevalier7_d27@indeedemail.com email address.

In this way, application acknowledgements and other emails sent from Beetween will be sent directly to the candidate's personal address, if they have indicated this in their CV, for example. In this case, the exchanges will not appear in the candidate's Indeed messaging space, nor in the messaging space of your Indeed recruiter account.

Prior to our update, candidate files could therefore have been provided with a jobboard-specific email address.

Our update now selects the "best" of the 2 emails, preferring the candidate's personal email address, if available on the CV.

Special case: integrated CV applications

Some platforms, such as Indeed, allow candidates to apply directly via the CV generated by the job board ("Apply with Indeed"). If the candidate makes this choice, then his traditional CV will not be provided as an attachment on the jobboard. As a result, the email generated on the candidate form will remain the jobboard's automatic email.
